Appify Studio ("we", "our", or "us") built the Halal Kickoff: World Cup app as a commercial application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
- Location Data: If you grant permission, the app uses your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times for your area and to help you find nearby halal restaurants and places. Location data is processed on-device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Notification Preferences: Your match alert and prayer time reminder settings are stored locally on your device.
- App Preferences: Your favorite teams, leagues, and display settings are stored locally on your device.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (such as feature usage and crash reports) to improve app performance and the overall user experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate accurate prayer times (Salah) based on your location
- To show halal-certified restaurants and places near you
- To deliver match alerts and score notifications that respect your prayer schedule
- To display live World Cup scores, standings, and match information
- To personalize the app experience based on your favorite teams
- To improve and optimize the app
3. Location Data
Location access is used exclusively to:
- Calculate prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) for your specific geographic coordinates
- Find halal restaurants and prayer-friendly venues near you
We do not sell, share, or transmit your precise location to third parties. Location is processed on-device or passed to mapping services (such as Apple Maps) solely to display local search results. You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings.
4. Push Notifications
The app may send push notifications for match alerts (goals, kick-offs, final scores) and prayer time reminders. Notifications are opt-in and can be managed or disabled at any time through your device's notification settings or within the app.
5. Data Storage
Your preferences, favorite teams, and notification settings are stored locally on your device. We do not operate our own servers to store your personal data. Any data synced across your devices is handled through Apple's iCloud according to Apple's privacy policies, if you have iCloud enabled.
6. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store & iCloud — for app distribution, analytics, and optional data sync
- Sports Data Providers — for live World Cup scores, fixtures, and standings (only anonymized requests are made; no personal data is sent)
- Apple Maps / MapKit — for displaying nearby halal places (subject to Apple's privacy policy)
- Advertising Partners — for displaying ads, if applicable (subject to their respective privacy policies)
7. Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Security
We value your trust and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your data. Since data is stored primarily on your device, your device's built-in security protections also apply.
9. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Revoke location permissions via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
- Disable push notifications via iOS Settings → Notifications
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored data from your device
