DocFlow: PDF Tools

Effective Date: August 30, 2026 • Last Updated: August 30, 2026

Appify Studio ("we", "our", or "us") built DocFlow: PDF Tools as a commercial iOS application. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

1. Information We Handle

  • Documents You Select: DocFlow accesses PDF files, images, and other supported documents only when you select, import, scan, create, or open them in the app.
  • Created and Edited Files: PDFs you create, combine, split, compress, convert, annotate, sign, or otherwise edit are processed and stored on your device or in a storage location you select. We do not upload your documents to Appify Studio servers.
  • Camera and Photos: If you choose to scan a document or create a PDF from an image, the app may access your camera or the photos you select. Camera images and selected photos are used only to perform the action you request.
  • App Preferences: Settings, recent-file references, processing preferences, and other app choices may be stored locally on your device.
  • Usage and Diagnostics: We may receive limited, non-identifying information such as app interactions, crash reports, device type, iOS version, app version, language, and region to improve stability and performance.
  • Purchase Information: If you purchase premium features or a subscription, Apple processes the transaction. We may receive transaction status and product identifiers needed to provide or restore access, but we do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Support Communications: If you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include.

2. How We Use Information

  • To import, view, create, edit, organize, and export PDF documents
  • To scan documents or convert selected images into PDFs
  • To perform PDF operations you request, such as merging, splitting, compressing, converting, annotating, or signing
  • To save your files and preferences in locations you choose
  • To provide and restore premium access, when applicable
  • To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve app performance
  • To respond to support requests

3. On-Device Document Processing

DocFlow is designed to perform document and PDF processing on your device. Your imported files, scanned documents, signatures, and edited PDFs are not transmitted to Appify Studio servers. If you save a file to a third-party cloud-storage provider or share it using the iOS share sheet, that provider's privacy practices apply after you choose to send or save the file.

4. Device Permissions

Depending on the features you use, DocFlow may request:

  • Files Access: To import documents and save exported files in locations you select.
  • Camera Access: To scan a document when you choose the scanning feature.
  • Photo Library Access: To import selected images or save document images when you request it.

You can deny or change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Features that depend on a revoked permission may no longer work.

5. Signatures and Sensitive Documents

Documents may contain personal, confidential, financial, medical, or other sensitive information. Signatures you create or save in DocFlow remain on your device and are used only when you add them to a document. You are responsible for choosing where to store or share your documents and for protecting access to your device and files.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your documents, scans, signatures, and app preferences are primarily stored locally on your device or in a file-storage location you select. You can delete files through DocFlow, the Files app, your selected storage provider, or by deleting the app's locally stored data. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations.

7. Third-Party Services

DocFlow may use the following services:

  • Apple App Store and StoreKit: For app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and restoring purchases.
  • Apple Files, Photos, Camera, and Share Sheet: For importing, scanning, saving, and sharing documents when you request those actions.
  • Cloud Storage Providers: If you select a third-party location through the iOS document picker, that provider handles the file under its own privacy policy.
  • Analytics and Crash Reporting: Limited technical and usage information may be processed to measure performance and diagnose problems.
  • Advertising Partners, if applicable: If ads are shown, providers may process limited device and usage information to deliver and measure advertising.

8. Advertising and Tracking

If DocFlow displays advertising, advertising partners may use limited information to deliver and measure ads. The app will request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before tracking your activity across other companies' apps or websites where required. You can manage tracking permissions in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell your documents, scans, or signatures. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate, analyze, secure, or support the app; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or as part of a business transfer. Service providers may use information only for the services they provide to us.

10. Children's Privacy

DocFlow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. On-device processing limits the transfer of document content, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We recommend using a device passcode and appropriate access controls for sensitive files.

12. Your Choices and Rights

  • Manage Camera, Photos, and tracking permissions in iOS Settings
  • Delete documents, scans, signatures, and locally stored app data
  • Choose whether and where to export or share documents
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
  • Contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information we may hold

Privacy rights may vary depending on where you live. We may need to verify your request before responding.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
